The High Court for the State of Telangana has issued orders to the lower courts by providing relief to the victims in rape cases. It states that “The statements of rape victims under Section 164 Cr.P.C., shall only be recorded by the nearest lady Metropolitan/ lady Judicial Magistrate immediately without any delay or further adjournment of the matter”. These instructions will help the victim to report the details of her rape incident to the female magistrate without fear.
