You are cordially invited to the Grand Finale titled “Cyberathon“ on account of completion of the unique 10- month long “CybHER III” as Cyber Congress, an initiative of the Women Safety Wing of Telangana State Police in collaboration with the Department of School Education.
CybHER III as Cyber Congress is an extension of CybHER, following the success of the first two CybHER campaigns in 2020 that aimed to increase the awareness on Cyber Safety among the public by providing a practical exposure to children by using them as active citizens who propagate the latest threatening issues of cybercrimes. This project is an initiative of the Women Safety Wing of TS Police to enable 3,300 adolescent children as cyber safety ambassadors from 1650 government Schools in 33 districts of Telangana over a period of 10 months and is supported by the Department of School Education – Samagra Siksha as a key stakeholder, implemented by NGO Partner Youngistaan Foundation, supported by Mr. Rakshit Tandon as a Knowledge Partner and Trainers Mrs. Sailaja Vadlamudi, Mr. Sai Satish, sponsored by Continental Coffee and supported by Innoright Solutions as a Technology partner.
During the last 10 months of the project, 100 students and 50 teachers of your district were trained to become cyber ambassadors through five virtual training sessions. Important topics like cyber bullying, cyber trolling, cyber extortion, cyber grooming, financial frauds, anti-virus applications, online gaming and other relevant cyber safety and security measures were addressed. Students were actively involved in a set of learning activities, competitions, webinars to improve their knowledge on prevention and redressal mechanisms to address cybercrimes.
Following each session, a series of learning activities/assessments were administered utilising a standardised Learning Management System (LMS) to evaluate student knowledge and identify gaps. 21st Century skills such as leadership, public speaking etc, empathising with the opposite person and other such skills were taught to these students so that they can work along with She Teams officers to confidently create awareness in communities.
Overall, 80 virtual training sessions were hosted. The ambassadors were educated on conducting awareness generation campaigns by promoting cyber safety and reporting cybercrimes within their schools, families and community members. After 10 months of active completion of the project, cyber ambassadors in 50 schools are now acting as a catalyst and agents of change by promoting the importance of women’s safety in cyber spaces by allying up with the local She Teams officers.
Today’s Grand Finale “Cyberathon” would be marked as a significant event at respective District Headquarters and for the 3 Commissionerates of – Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda here at the Bharatitya Vidya Bhavans Auditorium.
