The ANM plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to survivors of rape and sexual assault. The role of a MPHW includes the following:
1. The ANM assists the Medical Officer.
2. She provides First-Aid and extends required medical care to the victim as prescribed by the Medical Officer
3. She maintains the Pharmacy and other Medical and nursing utilities at the Centre.
4. She maintains the updated Medical Case Register & Medical History of the victim.
5. She is responsible for accompanying the victim to the hospital for collection of forensic evidence and medical examination where the procedure is done in a designated hospital and not the Bharosa Centre.
6. Provide assistance to victim in the admissions process in referral hospital.
7. She will track, follow up the cases admitted in referral hospital.
8. She will facilitate MTP/Abortion where required for the victim, at the authorized hospital,
9. She will support in conducting delivery of the victim on a need basis.
