Bharosa helps Women and Children deal with physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse through support, redressal and rehabilitation. Bharosa helps reduce re-victimization of women and children affected by violence and sexual abuse.

Key Highlights
  • Coordinating with all the law enforcing units
  • Supporting the law enforcing units and the victims of sexual assaults
  • Monitoring the investigation of grave and sensational Sexual assault cases.
  • Monitoring the POCSO Act cases through a Special Task Force headed by Dy. S.P and 3 Inspectors to ensure timely investigation and trial
  • Upgrading the skills of Police Officers
  • Evaluating the work turned out by the police units
  • Enhancing the cooperation between law enforcing units and other Govt. departments, NGOs
  • Collection and development of database on all the sexual assault cases of the state
  • Monitoring all Bharosa Centres in Telangana
  • Specialized cases monitoring cell takes care of cases in which victims are of less than 10 years, sensational in nature etc. Monitoring, guiding and review of all the identified specialized cases is being done by the monitoring cell after interacting with the investigation officers
  • CCTNS data is standardised for monitoring (POCSO& Rape) cases
Activities
  • New Bharosa centres at Sangareddy, Warangal were inaugurated during the year 2020
  • Renovation/ construction works are in progress for setting up of Bharosa Centres at Nalgonda, Suryapet, Medchal, Malkajgiri, Khammam, and Old City (Hyderabad), Cyberabad and Rachakonda (Under Safe City project)
  • Organised a Four-Day Training Workshop for the Staff of Bharosa One-Stop Centres of Telangana on “Working with Sexually Abused Children” conducted by National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore from 9th January 2021 to 12th January 2021 at Telangana State Police Academy
  • A Coordination meeting was held between Women Safety Wing, TS, Hyderabad and Department of Women & Children, TS, Hyderabad regarding sharing of resources of Sakhi and Bharosa Centres. It was discussed to lay importance to the privacy of victims during the investigation in various sexual offences and POCSO Act cases and in JJ Act Cases. Sakhi – Bharosa would work in convergence to provide required legal and psychological support to the victims without duplication of work
  • Regular coordination meetings are taking place between Women and Child Welfare Department & Women Safety Wing in the presence of concerned field level in-charges
Cases
  • Life imprisonment was awarded in the month of December -2020 in Cr.No.114/2020 U/S 376(20(n), 376(3), 506 IPC, Sec 5(ii) r/w 6 of POCSO Act-2012 of PS Geesugonda, Warangal which was monitored by Specialized cases monitoring cell
  • After the intervention of Vikarabad Bharosa Centre an amount of 25 lakh was released as compensation to the victims of sexual assault
  • After the intervention of Hyderabad Bharosa Centre an amount of Rs.31,91,750/- was sanctioned as compensation to the victims of sexual assault.
