Women Safety Wing signed an MoU on July 28, 2022 with Bachpan Bachao Andolan, through this partnership Bachpan Bachao Andolan will provide assistance to victims of sexual exploitation including online abuse & trafficking in the state of Telangana.
Through this agreement Telangana Police and Bachpan Bachao Andolan will provide complete end-to-end legal support, justice and rehabilitation support, including mental health counselling support, to victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Bachpan Bachao Andolan would provide support to the Telangana Police in providing assistance to the victims and establish a resource centre in the State to achieve the objectives of this MoU.
About Women Safety Wing
The Women Safety Wing (WSW) is an exclusive vertical of the Telangana State Police working to ensure the safety, dignity and empowerment of women & children in the state. The wing monitors the quality of investigation into crimes against women & children which specifically include prevention of trafficking, sexual offences, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, NRI issues & cyber crimes. Providing a safe environment to women & children while coming up with issue-specific solutions is a task WSW addresses with all its earnestness.
About Bachpan Bachao Andolan
BBA was founded in 1980 by Kailash Satyarthi and a small group of like-minded individuals. Back then, the issue of child labour was unacknowledged by Indian legislation, in public discourse and by the media. BBA undertook this insurmountable task with great zest and zeal.
Though, eradication of child labour remains one of the biggest challenges for India, BBA successfully changed the fate of over 1,00,000 + children, rescued from exploitation while initiating action and raising awareness for anti-child labor and anti-trafficking laws.
