Mahila Suraksha Sambaralu - Celebrating 10 years of Telangana setting milestones in Women Safety

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Telangana’s formation as a state, the Telangana Government organized the ‘Mahila Suraksha Sambaralu’ on June 4, 2023, at Tank Bund in Hyderabad. As part of the Mahila Suraksha Sambaralu, rallies were held to honor the dedicated services of the police in maintaining peace and security in society. The event focused on women’s safety and took place at Hyderabad Tank Bund. Dignitaries including the Minister of Home, Prisons, and Fire Services of Telangana, Mahmood Ali; the Minister of Women and Child Welfare of Telangana, Satyavati Rathore; MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntala; Mayor Vijayalakshmi; DGP Anjani Kumar; ADG Shikha Goel; and Hyderabad CP CV Anand graced the event. Film actor Nani, table tennis player Naina Jaiswal, and other celebrities participated in the program and extended their support for the various initiatives undertaken by the state.

Home Minister Mahmood Ali emphasized the positive impact of CCTV camera installations on crime reduction. He highlighted that the police services in Telangana have set a remarkable example for the rest of the country.

ADG Shikha Goel emphasized that Telangana, as the youngest state, has set an example for the world. The state pioneered initiatives such as the Women Safety Wing in 2018 and the SHE Teams in 2014, emphasizing the significance of prioritizing and ensuring the safety of women. Telangana has demonstrated how making women’s safety a priority can lead the way for others to follow.
