Foundation Laid for Five New Bharosa Centres

Since its initiation in May 2016, the ‘Bharosa Centres’ have been diligently working as a one stop facility to help women and children subdued by sexual assaults and violence. Following the benefits of the Bharosa Centre in the city of Hyderabad, the Telangana Government and Hyderabad City Police have been aiming to replicate the centres in each and every district of Telangana. To accomplish this initiative, recently a foundation laying ceremony was held for the establishment of five new Bharosa Centres in the districts of Adilabad, Jogulamba Gadwal, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, and Nizamabad. The ceremony was solemnized by Telangana director general of police (DGP) Dr M. Mahendar Reddy IPS. The focus is on making support and care available to every woman and child.
Working for the welfare of women and children for the past six years, the Bharosa Centres have been meticulously following a holistic convergence approach with the assistance of a Special Task Force. Being the brainchild of the Hyderabad City Police and Telangana Government, the Bharosa Centres endeavor at providing all aid and support possible to a victim in distress, under one roof completely away from police stations and hospitals. Ever since the establishment of the first Bharosa Center in Hyderabad in the year 2016, it has grown to have 12 more centres around different districts in Telangana. The Telangana DGP M. Mahendar Reddy, inaugurated the 12th Bharosa Centre on 26th July, 2022 in Medchal. Presently the 12 Bharosa Centres are operating in Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Warangal, Sangareddy, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Medchal, Malkajgiri, Khammam, Old City (Hyderabad), Cyberabad, and Rachakonda (Under Safe City Project).
