The Women Safety Wing of Telangana Police launched the ‘Cyber Ambassadors Platform’ (CAP) on 11th January 2023 on the eve of National Youth Day at Ravindra Bharati Auditorium, Hyderabad. The event was held in collaboration with the Department of School Education aiming at empowering school going adolescent students as cyber safety ambassadors, creating awareness on cyber-crimes and the preventive measures.
The programme was launched by Janab Mohammad Mahamood Ali, Hon’ble Minister for Home, Prisons & Fire Services, Telangana State, in the presence of Sri Anjani Kumar, IPS, Director General of Police, Telangana State; Smt. Shikha Goel, IPS, Addl.DG Women Safety & Bharosa; Smt. Vakati Karuna, IAS, Secretary of Education Department, Government of Telangana; Sri Ronald Rose, IAS, Secretary to Telangana Social Welfare & Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Society; and Smt. Sumathi Badugula, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Women Safety Wing. Over 2000 students, teachers and other stakeholders participated the launch event. More than 2 Lakh students joined the programme over live.
This phase of Cyber Ambassador Platform (CAP), a collaboration of Women Safety wing along with Education Department will train 9424 Cyber Ambassadors from 2381 schools, from 33 districts of Telangana which includes: Govt. schools – 1603 schools, BC Welfare Schools – 259 schools, SC Welfare Schools – 237 schools, ST Welfare Schools – 78 schools, Minority Welfare Schools – 204 schools in the year 2022-2023. This project includes the coordination of various stakeholders like Cyber Ambassador, Volunteer Mentors, Mentor Teachers, Gender coordinators along with and concerned district SHE team officers.
